Costs
Equipment for initial setup. Ladders, poles, cement, cabling, equipment boxes, wiring etc. Volunteers or paid staff time etc.
New Site costs per location Camera / Pole / Wifi
Maintenance / repairs. Theft / vandalism / replacement costs..
Running costs. Electrical running costs are approximately R1 per day per site.
Insurance? Other registration costs eg accounting fee's etc.
Funding
Regular funding will need to be sourced to pay for equipment, maintenance and other ancillary costs.
This can probably be raised in the form of a small neighbourhood levy, or via sponsorship, or donations, or all three.
We can also apply for government assistance. The local CPF and Ward Councillor have discretionary funding which can be applied for.
